On June 13, 2026, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required our public water system MacBee Special Utility District, PWS ID #23400012, to issue a Boil Water Notice (BWN) for the above area and to inform our customers that due to the distribution pressure dropping below 20 PSI, or an interruption in service, water from our system must be boiled before consumption. Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality. It has provided TCEQ with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling as of June 16, 2026. Dear MacBee Customer,
If you notice that your water has a yellow or brown tint and smell, it is likely due to manganese. Manganese is a mineral found in all lake water at all times. MacBee SUD adjusts the water treatment during the hot summer months because manganese becomes more visible in warm weather. Although MacBee makes every effort to prevent manganese from entering the water system, it is sometimes unavoidable. The manganese only affects the color of your water and is NOT harmful. The water is treated and safe to use. T.C.E.Q. does not require a "boil water" notice to be issued for the presence of manganese in your water.
